Friends:
As we enter into the month of May, it is with deep gratitude and great pleasure that I look back on what God accomplished through this ministry in April. Our unwavering goal at OnePassion is to boldly preach the gospel to the lost and strengthen believers in their faith as they hold fast to the truth of God’s word. As each door opens, this is our constant prayer for this ministry. Let me take a few moments to tell you about the month of April and all the Lord has done.
THE INSTITUTE FOR EXPOSITORY PREACHING
OLYMPIA, WA
We held our fourth Institute for Expository Preaching event of the year in Olympia, Washington. We were grateful for a wonderful turnout with over 130 pastors and church leaders attending this three day event. I taught 8 sessions on “Preaching the Gospel of Grace”, focusing upon evangelistic preaching, specifically from Romans 1-3. In each event there are multiple Q&As, meals shared together and rich fellowship with other like-minded pastors. It was an enriching time in which the men were both strengthened and encouraged in their preaching ministries. We have several more upcoming The Institute for Expository Preaching events in various locations around the country and overseas this year. So check them out here on our website and sign up to attend one near you.
MEN WHO ROCKED THE WORLD
LOS ANGELES, CA
After our Institute event in Olympia, I traveled to Los Angeles for the Men Who Rocked the World event at Grace Community Church. This is the fifth time I have spoken at this event in which we examine several men in church history and consider their impactful lives and commitments to the truth that have been passed down to us. This year we looked at the lives of Martyn Lloyd Jones, R.C. Sproul, and John MacArthur, some of the most gifted and influential preachers of the last century. It was a wonderful time as I taught for two days on these three men, their lives, and the truth they defended in each of their pulpits.
EXPOSITOR MAGAZINE
DALLAS, TX
Our newest issue of Expositor Magazine, Spring 2019, is now out and focuses on preaching the new birth. In this issue, the important doctrine of regeneration is explained through the biblical lens of Scripture. As preachers, we all need to be grounded in this core doctrinal truth of the new birth. Contributors to this issue include John MacArthur, Eric Alexander, Joel Beeke, myself. Of special note is a featured article from the late R.C. Sproul. Subscriptions, both printed and digital, are available on our website along with past issues that can be purchased individually.
NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
DALLAS, TEXAS
I have also completed my manuscript for a new book I wrote on the new birth, entitled, New Life in Christ. Taking John chapter 3 as the primary text, this book examines what happens when you are born again and why it matters. Understanding this crucial doctrine is vital for every believer. This book will be released next February.
THE MEN’S BIBLE STUDY
DALLAS, TEXAS
Our Men’s Bible Study continues to be a major highlight for me as I gather with business men in Dallas, Texas and teach through the book of Romans. We are currently in Romans chapter 9 having just looked at God’s promise of a chosen remnant in verses 25-29. We will next cover Romans 9:30-33, “The Stumbling Stone”. Our next Bible study is Thursday, May 9 at 7am CST as we continue our verse by verse exposition through this monumental book in the Bible. Please join us via live stream here on our website or via our Facebook page.
LIGONIER AMERICAN FOUNDATIONS TOUR
NEW ENGLAND
As a Teaching Fellow of Ligonier Ministries, it is my privilege to work with this ministry established by R.C. Sproul. To close out April, it was my joy to help lead the American Foundations Tour through Philadelphia, Princeton, Williamsburg, and Washington D.C. I preached six times through Ephesians 1:3-14 on the sovereign grace of God. Moreover, I addressed many points of historical significance along the way. As a result of this tour, I am especially mindful of the labors of many who have gone before us and prepared the way for our ministries today.
As we reflect on these updates, we are incredibly thankful to the Lord for what He continues to do. Each of you are a partner in this ministry and used by God to accomplish His work. Through your prayers, support, and financial gifts, we are enabled to do what we do. Thank you so much for standing with us and supporting this ministry, we are deeply grateful.
Blessings in Christ,
